How to leave Paymentsense
Paymentsense is a UK-focused acquirer / ISO with strong sector specialisms. Contracts can be on Paymentsense paper or on the underlying acquirer paper (often Worldpay or Elavon).
Contract specifics
- Notice period
- 90 days standard; check renewal anniversary.
- Exit fees
- Variable. Bundled hardware deals often charge a residual rental fee on the terminal until end of contract.
- Terminal return
- Required for rental hardware. Owned hardware (less common) stays with the merchant.
What typically happens
Notice via the merchant portal or by recorded delivery. Confirmations follow. Final settlements complete in the normal cycle.
Where merchants typically move
- Direct acquirers (SumUp, Square, Zettle, Dojo) if the issue was rate / service.
- Other brokers (MerchantSavvy, Take Payments) if you want to stay broker-distributed.
Watch outs
- Bundled rental on terminal hardware can run beyond the merchant-account exit.
- Residual portal access ends at contract end; export reports first.
